CNN is one of the news channels that is played regularly in the gym whenever I pay a visit to it. So the 3 pm news was having a series on the Iraq war and the poverty faced by people over there, especially focusing on this particular man on how is income was 65 cents per day and how it was better for people there to die rather than waiting for better things to happen. One thing that was striking to me was that the news reporter was in health and reporting the whole incident. My mind started racing, that perhaps the money spent in broadcasting the story in some way could be spent over some efforts being done. While in India too, the thing about news reporters that would always baffle me was, while they are reporting the whole incident why don't they go a step further perhaps spend 1/10th of the probable income over some sort of betterment of these people who are helping them in creating that news. That, they were not just reporting but also helping would have created a better TRP is my guess. I can't be sure but I certainly would wish for it.
The other thing was how Americans are facing dire consequences of the recession in the country , with the job applicants facing pressure in making resumes for their next job. In a way the whole world would be a part of their downsizing effect. With thousands of eligible candidates sitting at home and hoping for a better future. The previous news strikes me because, it said that at least 30,000 military men were serving Asian continent for some reason or the other, for helping in the formation of a democracy in Iraq, to keep the terrorism under control in Afghanistan to name a few. America is a great country, in the face of all the financial masaccare of sorts that it has been through, it still is supporting the cause at the fellow continent. Just one question keeps popping though .. why the heck is it still doing that.. if that money can be saved to perhaps better the situation back home, soldiers might see thier families and most importanly its time that countries like Iraq revolt for thier own rights and work for their own benifits. But perhaps its trying to undo what it did.
It's the best thing if things get back to normal in US, for every commoner on the planet for now, with downsizing hitting hard especially to countries it outsources from not counting the numerous people here itself facing the same situation. President Obama was very concise in what he said about how American leadership has always been looked upon in every historical situation and they have rised to the ocassion in every circumstance presented.
As a resident alien allowed to work in US, whenever I speak to anyone back home there is the big question " how are things in US and the job situation " .. One blatant answer that makes a rude escape is just see the news, everything they say on it is sadly true and perhaps even worse. One other thing is why is it that the world still looking over US for leadership ?? No offense , it has proved itself more than what has been expected of it several times ( more times than the situation should have been presented to it). Perhaps its time for each of the trustworthy dependents to shoulder some of the responsibilities they have been shredding on this country which it has taken for so long. It has inspired and supported for so long that it has become a cycle. They have done it for so long a time that people all over the world have adapted their ways and means according to the needs of this country. Since I know somethig about textile industry, the plight is such that, countries like India concentrate on export products exclusively. With such an abundance of fibers both natural and synthetic, unconventional uses are not sought even now. Technology is the only way out of any problem - that's what Japan learnt from their mistakes; being independent of looking upon US for leadership harnessing their own means and strenghts. When will the others wake and learn this is all I wonder whenever people look for a job in US because of many diverse reasons. Instead of enriching this land with the brainy toil, for a change people should try that in their own nations so that several US can be created and then perhaps the job scenarios change if at all we are alive to see another recession.
